Welcome to Off-Campus Hub. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

1. What Off-Campus Hub is

Off-Campus Hub is a listing directory that helps Nigerian university students find off-campus accommodation and connect with compatible roommates. We are not a real estate agent, landlord, or party to any rental agreement. We do not handle payments or sign contracts on anyone's behalf.

2. Who can use the platform

• Students looking for accommodation or roommates must be 16 years or older.
• Landlords must own or be authorised to manage the property they list.
• You must provide accurate information when registering and posting listings.

3. Landlord responsibilities

• All listing details (price, location, amenities, photos) must be truthful and up to date.
• You must remove listings for properties that are no longer available.
• Fraudulent or misleading listings will be removed and accounts may be suspended.

4. Student responsibilities

• Always verify a property in person before making any payment to a landlord.
• Off-Campus Hub does not guarantee the accuracy of any listing — exercise your own judgement.
• Do not share your account credentials with anyone else.

5. Roommate Finder

The Roommate Finder feature allows students to create profiles and send connect requests to other students. Your WhatsApp number is only shared with another student after both parties have accepted a connect request. You are responsible for your interactions with other users.

6. Content you post

By uploading photos or entering listing details, you confirm you have the right to share that content. You grant Off-Campus Hub a non-exclusive licence to display it on the platform. We may remove any content that violates these terms without notice.

7. No payment processing

Off-Campus Hub never collects rent payments, deposits, or any money between students and landlords. Any financial arrangement is solely between you and the other party. We are not liable for payment disputes.

8. Limitation of liability

Off-Campus Hub is provided as-is. We are not responsible for losses arising from your use of the platform, including disputes with landlords or other students, inaccurate listing information, or inability to access the service.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.

This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Information we collect

• Account info: your name, email address, and role (student or landlord) when you register.
• Listing info: property details, photos, and videos uploaded by landlords.
• Roommate profile: lifestyle preferences and WhatsApp number (only if you choose to create a roommate profile).
• Usage data: pages visited and actions taken, used to improve the platform.

2. How we use your information

• To operate your account and display listings.
• To send password reset emails when requested.
• To match students in the Roommate Finder.
• To improve the platform based on how it is used.

3. What we do not do

• We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
• We do not send marketing emails without your consent.
• We do not share your WhatsApp number without a mutual roommate connect request.

4. Data storage

Your data is stored on MongoDB Atlas (cloud database) and images are stored on Cloudinary. Both services maintain their own security standards. We retain your data for as long as your account is active.

5. Your rights

• You can delete your listings at any time from your landlord dashboard.
• You can delete your roommate profile at any time.
• To request full account deletion, contact us at the email below.

6. Cookies

We use your browser's local storage to keep you logged in between sessions. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking.
